Happy OX Year!
enjoyable holiday.
i like people telling me "stories" :DD
ate a lot also.
dec-jan/feb are the months when you stock up.
dec ( esp the end ) when you get rid of all the vouchers.
i was alternating buffet and restaurants for five continuous days during mid-end dec last year,
and then you get a few dinners for the new year and the chinese one as well.
x)
and, uh, one last "takeaway" from my holiday?
i find mixed/crossed-blood females to be really pretty ><
haha
completing a chinese compo now.. ):

9:56 PM
I lost a previous classmate ( 1J/2J ) today.
he is named Cao Yuan Chi.
he died from a rare strain of acute leukemia.
i was shocked when i heard the news announced today.
because i now have a classmate that had leukemia [ though said he had fully recovered ( frederick ) ]
and i didn't know yuanchi had leukemia.
so it was very...
like my new classmate died??!
and when they said the actual name, i felt what?!how?!
he is a nice guy;
he is hardworking; usually hears him talk about schoolwork e.g. geog, french, MoV
like to do his own notes and don't mind sharing/giving/photocopy for class.
he likes his cca; the more current one being boys brigade, see him doing the /marching/salute thing with shengyi, and wanting to get "promoted"
to round it off a little light-heartedly, he is young, a hot blooded male virgin, a nice friend and a classic student.
really sad that he died so young.
losing a classmate is something you will never forget, better not to experience and hope will never happen.
nothing for granted.
though this kind of things don't happen so commonly, may this be a lesson learnt from others than wait to be taught firsthand.
may he rest in peace;
your friends and loved ones.
there comes a point that every bird has to fly,
at some point every rose has to die.
together we cry-ry-ry

9:49 PM
just finished my chinese homework.
been a nice week.
i saw the kiwi cup on friday. ( after stupid cca )
ri lost ):
i sat at the stadium steps to watch at first.
then i realized i don't see much and felt like going back.
so i walked around the canteen for a while.
then i went to the astroturf to watch some st andrew's kids play.
they were so cute and funny.
they were throwing a marble back and forth.
and there was also one guy commenting dramatically when someone makes a catch.
one of the guy randomly commented while playing: " eh raffles rugby also quite good "
so nice.
if only older ones feel that way too.
i never get dumb comments like "acsi/hci/other school sucks"
senseless hating because what you hate is them being better than you.
if not why don't you hate another school that is worse than you for similar reason.
and like you know everybody in that school have the stereotype the school has.
better time spent on improving yourself.
after watching for a while, i went back to sit at the end of the rugby field closest to the softball diamond.
better view and atmosphere.
there were a lot of alumni there too.
including saint andrew's
one of the saint andrew's alumni talked to me.
when saints scored a try to equalise ri's one previously.
it was a friendly exchange ^^
another saint's fan "WOOHOO-ed" that time too.
even though its a little crazy because he is the only one as the people surrounding him are raffles.
quite funny.
ri could have won in the last 15 seconds.
i was sitting in front of them and they had 1m to go to reach the tryline.
the ball bounced, a guy anticipated wrongly and missed, it bounced again, and another guy anitcipated wrongly.
ahh it was so close.
nice windy weather these few days,
since last week's friday actually (:
i think i will just publish the post on the teachers i had i did halfway yesterday, after this.
typed it.
then was too lazy too edit and pressed "save now" and watched tv and sleep.
x)
chinese new year coming.
the holidays! heh
feel like going back nanyang, should i?
hmm
goodnight!

MY TEACHERS
all of my teachers seem quite nice.
all the science teachers are the "older, lenient" type.
the math teacher is new and is soft spoken.
the
english teacher is the "nice type" but is also the "unexplainable" type. we got a "strike 3" all of a sudden and had to do 40
pushups at the bottom of
sr-block. its supposed to be "strike 1"then "strike 2" then 3 but don't recall hearing her saying either of those...maybe that was the problem, but still..very mysterious.
the social studies teacher is quite funny. he "threatened" an
indian classmate who wore a jacket with a
chelsea logo. took the
classlist and marked him. a fellow classmate who then assumed the teacher was a man-united fan exclaimed " sir sir, you are a man-u fan also
ar. yeah man-u Rocks man! " hence, the teacher asked the class if there are any more man-u fans. some others put up their hands. then he took down all their names and said he was a
liverpool fan actually. following that, he asked who was a
liverpool fan. and i think i raised my hand ( the only one ). he also marked me down. but unlike the others, after he did that, he asked me " what
gpa do you want this year? *replied: uh..what.. um..4.0?* do you want to go to the project room or library to rest? or another recess at the canteen? "
hahaha (x
but it actually mattered.
because the next lesson we had, when he was asking questions that nobody will volunteer, he picked on the
chelsea/man-u fan to answer them.
i am not really a fan actually.
but i like
liverpool..for some reason(s).
it just clicks to do so...the x-factor it has that other teams don't.
never even watched any of their matches actually.
weird eh?
the
cle teacher is the same as the physics teacher.
the first
cle lesson was really funny and wrong.
he questioned the class what the hot news are currently.
then you get uninteresting answers like
obama and
financial crisis...
and he surprised me and many others when he wrote "
zhang ziyi going topless on the beach"
firstly, am surprised because i didn't know anything about that ( was at obs ).
secondly, what a topic!!
thirdly, because it sounds wrong and during
cle?
the champion comment from that discussion was " i feel it is wrong because if she wants to be topless, she should not stop halfway; the bottom has to go off too. "
the
philo teacher is an
african-
american and really dramatic.
mr raphael..nice name.
the
pe teacher.. no comments.
the only thing i heard from him is asking us to do 2.4km run,
and to approach him and tell him the reason when you don't wear proper
pe attire.
how do you comment those?
the geog teacher...nice?
the
chinese teacher..is relieved by "
hu lei" for the week.
and "
hu lei" talks quite fast = half the time i can't understand.

9:53 PM
sooo...
obs was okay/good.
i lost about 250-300 bucks there.
i lost a pair of sneakers ( $98 ) and broke my specs ( $160 ). ( one of the lenses broke into half )
losing both of them was quite bad because...
i wore the sneakers about 20 times ( 1 month ) only?
it was quite new..
but at least i still have 2 more pairs at home.
unlike the specs.
had to make a new one today, $198 exactly.
there's a nice interesting story behind it too!
i.e. i broke it from sleeping and being nice.
cause i have this indian friend as my tentmate
named chinna, pronounced cheena ( rather cute and hot name for an indian, to me o.o )
and he's quite particular about me turning to him or/and making any kind of noise when i sleep.
and when i do so.. he will elbow and hit me.
so during the last night ( thursday ) before the day we are off..
i put my specs in the pocket ( mistake )
and in the middle of the night the pokes and elbows got really irritating and pain.
like:
sleep > face him > get elbowed > turn away > sleep > somehow will turn to him > get elbowed > turn away.
and repeat.
in the morning i found it broken.
>:|
don't really blame him..
as in not totally blame him, but of course i still blame him.
for fun mostly. ><
since i snapped out of mourning 10mins after waking up and finding it broke.
*after i psyched myself to accept the trouble which i ( and him ) caused myself .
can't do much to change what happened.
he's a cute and nice guy anyway.
the chatty, small, singaporean type of indian.
there was another indian in my watch.
this is a different kind.
he is the heavily accented, serious and very indiany-indian kind.
i like that type as much too (:
many stories related to him also but i want to keep this part short and move on to others.
so my watch was "dhanabalan", camp 1.
camp 1 is the better camp, i am told.
anyway my instructor is iskandar, asked to be called charlie.
best instructor out there?
firstly, he's a rafflesian. coincidentally, he has the same batch song as my batch too.
lastly, he's humorous, has bad spelling, guides us proper yet lenient, teach us games that aren't lame and overtaught, tells us stories ( ubin-related and own life ) and cooked a nice apple crumble for us.
seriously, he's really good. better wish you get him.
as for my watch, its really good too.
i don't want to say "best" since that's what everyone will say but outrageously, is always a lie.
we have a nice name ( this reason is good and long enough to beat others but i will list.. )
we bicker almost too much ( very close )
we have everybody ( indonesian, vietnam, indian, chinese, malay, assholes, racists, genius, leukemia survivor )
we win too easily ( 15mins before finale, we came out with a cheer and coloured our flag which is actually really good and won, by an obvious margin to eveyone there in camp 1 )
our instructor.
and we for ourselves.
as for what obs is.
my watch did this,
day 1: ice-breakers, learnt camping stuff
day 2: learnt to kayak, statrted land expedition ( hiked ) to random campsite (1)
day 3: from random campsite (1), kayaked half of ubin to random ccmapsite (2), night walk around ubin village
day 4: hiked ubin back to campsite 1, climing activities
day 5: pack and finale
watches differ in activities.
for example, my firends told me some kayak to pasir ris park.
and bought chicken wings to eat.
how? i don't know. what that is? it is unfair and illegal ]:<
at the end of most days, you will have a sharing session.
what you learnt, overcame etc..
for me, honestly i didn't learnt much.
most stuff i did before.
the activities weren't that tiring and scary to me.
done much worse.
was racing with my navigator friend during the kayak seesion and timing who's faster with the better ones across the ropes in the climbing activity.
mostly provided comic relief during reflection periods...
only stuff i conceded i gained were more friends and stories about others.
for example, the current rgs principal was the vice prinicpal to temasek jc and was made to stand on her lexus suv and sing the school song on her first day.
learnt from: the rjc prinicipal who is ri's prinicipal now who was the principal to temasek jc when whom the above was vice principal to then. ( long sentence )
i also got a cut on the corner of my left eye ( from the corner of the oar swung by my kayak partner ) and insect bites ( which means your blood is desirable ). i lost what was mentioned in the first paragraph and my purple toenail i got at mid-november.
( another story(/ies) but basically the "purple" is dried blood between the toe and the nail )
my tips for obs is to be useful, not act clever, work together,
get as much sleep and food as possible everyday,
bring money for equipment you will lose and have to pay,
and hope it doesnt rain for five days.
i wish future schools a very good obs.
good night.
jumping jives stay alive,
cause Dhanabalan's here to stay.
ah-woo! woo! woo! woo!
ah-woo! woo! woo! woo!

10:08 PM
today is the first day of school.
er.
i have a new class.
they
look very serious when they talk... ( REALLY!, i mean...considering what they are talking about )
ESPECIALLY for self-introduction O.O
try imagining what i experienced:
talk about 2 things you are proud of and 2 you regretted;
A: ...one of the things i regretted is that i fought with my friend B last year because i did not know he will be in my class this year.
X: i really regretted not visiting the old western store more because ...*talks about how the western stores afterwards really really suck* & *talks about how the old western store is ( was ) like the ultimate food store*
also, some guy named,
eldois.
after he talked what was required,
suddenly started on:
" ya and don't ask me about my name cause it is very illogical and its because my mother cannot think of anything and randomly created it. "
and stopped there.
HUH?!
other than that,
i also really enjoyed the video shown today too.
many treasures in that one...
so many things a lot of people can/have yet to learn from..
laughing
everytime, cherish what happened in a day, treasure those little things, see the good in people and enjoy them for what they are, get over the competing-you-win-and-someone-have-to-lose attitude of people...
all of these are good and true.
and i know.. because i do.
it was really nice, though a little uncomfortable, knowing someone feels so similarly also.
just feel like adding one of the many things i have
observed and learnt but
rarely let up;
one of the strongest abilities of the human mind,
is to spot fault.
and most of the time,
the "fault" is what that person really hates and worries him/herself to ( ever ) have.
haha anyway i wish all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!
^^
i hope for everyone to be a nicer and more open-minded person.
good luck for everyone in whatever they hope to achieve.
