a long time since i posted ( right? can't remember but i think so )
and i really shouldn't be posting but nevermind.
anyway, there's the OLYMPICS and SINGAPORE's BIRTHDAY.
for the latter, HAPPY 43rd BIRTHDAY + 3 DAYS SINGAPORE.
woohoooo.
nothing else to say since i didn't have tickets to watch the parade.
and what free time i had on that day that could be spent on watching the parade at home was not spent on that, nor on the other obvious choice of school work, but on the olympics. ( come to this later )
in my honest opinion anyway, the NDP's are getting crappier year by year.
i was at the last NDP parade at the kallang stadium and was glad to be there.
great atmosphere, lively crowd and such.
and these days, it is held at the stupid marina place which is so small and unsuitable to me.
maybe a modern and fancy image to organisers but...
having so many people going crazy in the stadium is the real cool.
and leave the national day songs to kit chan please,
i still can remember certain lyrics from her "home" and "where i belong" songs.
not like hady's "shine for singapore" song which the only words i can remember from the song are "shine", "for" and "singapore" ._.
coming to OLYMPICS
okay i saw almost everything that have taken part these few days.
all the swimming heats, semis and finals
some hockey matches from both male and females.
beach and indoor volleyball.
basketball.
weightlifting ( very boring to me hahaha )
gymnastics
diving
handball
tennis
boxing
opening ceremony
some scenes i loved were:
the Argentinian female hockey team with some of them wearing striking pink shoes.
the b-ball match between NZ and SPAIN and when one of the kiwis fooled the line ref into giving her the ball for a throw in when it should be given to spain instead as the kiwis threw it out of bounds. very evil, very sweet. was laughing my ass then.
today, in the men's team all around gym finals. alexander artemev on the pommel horse. twisting and spinning like crazy, damn nice.
US men owning China's ass in b-ball, esp late into the game
can't bring to mind the others... ><
but the last i can remember and the best as yet. PHELPS and his expression after the 4x100m win
HAHA if you saw his expression in the live telecast just after the race, you will be treated to scenes of "YEAH YEAH YEAH" from him
fuck, i absolutely loved it. i was like, shit! when the commentator said alain bernard was the french anchorman during the 3rd leg with the french leading with a half body length at the 275m mark; cause alain's fast in the 100m. then, lezak managed to own alain's ass in the 4th leg, i was pleasantly surprised. PHELPS can continue his quest for eight and judging from his reaction, i bet he badly wanted eight as well or he wouldn't be so glad to have won this >.>
grats TAO LI as well, so pro, as in really.
i mean, people don't really know how hard it is right, shaving time off from your best.
most people just accept that yes, tenths and hundredth of seconds shaved off is actually a lot though it seems very little.
but the fact is it is VERY LITTLE.
its just that it is much harder to shave off that very little amount than what people think
the best way to really understand is if you experience and time yourself.
i better study from today onwards, i got reminded that i forgot to do an online MOV test today.
can't watch too much.
good luck all OLYMPIANS
